Candycorn for Nikoli by ultravioletbat Candycorn for Nikoli by ultravioletbat
This past year's piece for Halloween. I never get to have candycorn any more. I just haven't found it in the UK. So Nikoli gets to eat giant-sized ones on my behalf.

He is accompanied by a little bat sneaking some candy and two jack-o-lantern fellas. ^-^

The big pumpkin seems a lil grumpy! :D

You can grab one of the 6 prints left of it for $12. Just email or note me.

EDIT: I've gone over this piece yet again. Made some minor changes that have made an over-all difference. I gave it some propper grass and added the highlights on the foreground bushes.

It's my favourite, but they don't go as crazy celebrating over here as they do in the US :(

I remember seeing this when I went through your gallery on FA. I donít remember the grass being as detailed but I do agree that it has made a difference for the overall piece. Iím especially impressed with the realistic texture of it and the lighting from the jackolanterns upon it. That alone was truly magnificent.

I also admire the different lighting qualities from the moonlit forest and the effect of the jackolanterns light upon it. As in, most of the objects seem bathed in a more blueish, paler light with the exception of that which falls under the yellow light of the lanterns. That too was impressive.

As for Nikoli, I think you did a rather nice job in giving him a furry, yet smooth/shiny appearance to his fur. His expression seems rather pleased with his giant piece of candy corn while the tiny bat, possibly sneaking a stealthy lick or bite of one of the other pieces, was a cute addition to the piece.

Very well done UV.
